Stone Town Reggae Festival

The Zanzibar Reggae Festival – East Africa’s first environmentally conscious festival on a zero-waste mission!
Their objective is to unify people from Zanzibar and from different backgrounds to join hands, experience the beauty of this tropical island and contribute to overcoming environmental issues while enjoying Reggae music together.
Beyond the music this festival stands for unity and upholding the deeply rooted Rastafarian cultural heritage in Zanzibar. Therefore each year in the spirit of the festival, they encourage Zanzibari’s and visitors to unite and make an effort together to improve the Zanzibar environment – therefore preserving the unique beauty of Zanzibar.
This year during the festival a major beach clean up in Stone Town in cooperation with Sustainable East Africa as well as tree plantings in cooperation with Fumba Town Service Centre are planned.
