Dunia Camp in Serengeti National Park
Dunia Camp counts with a unique location due to its access to the three game-viewing hot spots Seronera, Moru Kopjes and the southern Serengeti plains. The nearby Seronera River attracts many predators hunting their food sources providing exceptional sighting experiences year round. In the panoramic Moru Kopjes the endangered black rhino is often spotted and the great migration in May/June and November/December is following an old migration route on which the camp is pitched.
The semi-permanent camp is equipped with just eight spacious tented suites which all come with a large private veranda in order for you to enjoy the expansive views of the game-filled plains. The water consumption at the camp is monitored closely with a public bore whole and the collection of rain water being the source of origin. Sewage is diverted to soak away pits and the camp has an on-request towel and linen change policy to further save water and energy. Waste is collected and separated and brought back to Arusha where it is distributed to several recipients among others those who reuse plastic and glass to create new products.
Around 30% of the staff comes directly from the surrounding villages providing employment and an alternative means of income. The staff is trained on a regular basis by in-house specialists and they can furthermore participate in online training courses.
