SafiSana (SaSa)

Since its opening in 2017, SafiSana (Sasa) has been one of Stone Town’s top addresses for home textiles, bags and fashion. What’s more, all of the items have been produced by local women in the village of Jambiani, empowering them to generate an income for their families.

International designers have volunteered to create the fashionable and unique designs of SafiSana and have supported the women in learning different sewing techniques. The fabrics are sourced from the African mainland and give the designs a distinctive and colorful African touch.

One of their extraordinary items is the wall art made from different fabric cut-offs, creating an individual piece of art for every item made. SafiSana also supports the children of its employees with funding for university or sewing school.
